ScanLog ("the App") is an offline QR code scanning and logging tool developed by The English Life Academy ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how ScanLog handles your information. ScanLog is designed with privacy at its core: all scanning, logging, and data storage occurs exclusively on your device. No personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared with any third party. By using ScanLog, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
ScanLog collects only: • QR code content (the text or data encoded in scanned QR codes) • Timestamp of each scan (date and time) • User-created notes or labels for scans (optional) ScanLog does NOT collect: • Personal identification information • Device identifiers or hardware information • Location data • Usage analytics or behavior tracking • Account or login information (no login required) • Biometric data • Contact lists or personal files
All scan data is stored exclusively on your device using local storage mechanisms: • QR content and timestamps are written to your device's local database • No data is transmitted to any server or cloud service • No backups are created on external systems • All data remains under your device's security and encryption (if enabled by your device settings) • When you delete scans from the App, they are removed from your device permanently
Your scan data is used only for: • Displaying your personal scan history within the App • Allowing you to view, edit, or delete individual scans • Creating CSV exports of your scan logs (user-initiated only) You have full control over your data: • You can delete individual scans at any time • You can clear all scan history at any time • You can export your complete scan log as a CSV file at any time • Exported files are created locally and managed by you
ScanLog does not: • Share your scan data with any third party • Send data to external servers or cloud services • Use third-party analytics, crash reporting, or tracking services • Integrate with advertisement networks or marketing platforms • Sell or monetize your data • Disclose data to government or law enforcement (data does not leave your device) Your data is yours alone and never leaves your device.
ScanLog requests only one permission: • Camera: Required to scan QR codes ScanLog does NOT request: • Location access • Contacts or address book access • Photo or media library access • Microphone or audio access • Calendar or event access
ScanLog operates entirely on your device, which provides strong security by design: • No network connections are made during normal operation • No data is transmitted or at risk of interception • Your device's native security (OS-level encryption) protects your data • You control access to your device and therefore access to your scans CSV exports are created locally and managed by you; ScanLog does not monitor or control exported files.
You control all data retention: • Scans are retained as long as you keep them in the App • You can delete individual scans at any time • You can clear all scan history at any time • Deleted data is permanently removed from your device • ScanLog does not retain backups or copies
You have full control over your data: • Access: All your scan data is visible to you in the App • Deletion: You can delete any or all scans at any time • Portability: You can export all your scans as a CSV file at any time • No deletion delays: Changes take effect immediately on your device
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be indicated in the App or communicated to users. Your continued use of ScanLog constitutes acceptance of any updated Privacy Policy.
