Legal Terms Governing ScanLog

By downloading, installing, and using ScanLog ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
ScanLog is an offline QR code scanning and logging application that: • Allows users to scan QR codes using their device camera • Records the content of scanned QR codes along with timestamps • Stores all scan data locally on the user's device • Provides users the ability to view, organize, edit, and delete scan logs • Allows users to export scan data as a CSV file • Does not require account creation or login • Does not transmit data to external servers or third parties
You agree to: • Use ScanLog only for lawful purposes • Not use ScanLog to scan, record, or process QR codes that contain illegal content or violate others' intellectual property rights • Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the App • Not distribute, copy, or modify ScanLog without permission • Not use ScanLog to create derivative works • Not hold The English Life Academy responsible for the content of QR codes you scan
You own all scan data created within ScanLog: • All QR content, timestamps, and notes you create belong to you • You have full control over your scan history • You may delete, export, or modify your data at any time • The English Life Academy retains no copy of your data • You are responsible for backing up data if desired (ScanLog creates no automatic backups)
ScanLog is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind: • The App is provided without warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement • The English Life Academy does not warrant that the App will function without errors or interruption • The English Life Academy does not warrant that scanning will always succeed or that data will never be lost due to device failure • You assume all risk of data loss; back up important data regularly
To the fullest extent permitted by law: • The English Life Academy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages • The English Life Academy is not liable for data loss, device damage, or any other loss resulting from use of ScanLog • The English Life Academy is not liable for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of QR code content • Your sole remedy for any dispute is the discontinuation of use
ScanLog requests Camera permission only, which is necessary to scan QR codes. You may revoke this permission at any time through your device settings; however, ScanLog will not function without camera access.
The English Life Academy reserves the right to discontinue ScanLog or terminate your access if you violate these Terms of Use. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. You retain ownership of your data; uninstalling the App will retain your local scan data on your device until you delete it.
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any legal action or proceeding shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan.
The English Life Academy reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be indicated in the App or communicated to users. Continued use of ScanLog constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
